Book of Luke Christmas Challenge

CrossExamined.org

Here’s an idea; the book of Luke in the Bible has 24 chapters in it. You can read a chapter a day for the next 24 days, and on Christmas morning, you’ll know the story of Jesus Christ.

The Gospel of Luke is actually one of the earliest records of Jesus’ life. As a previous journalist, I was told many times over that for anyone who wants to read about Jesus’ life, should read Luke. This book tells the story of Jesus in a more simple form.

Luke took on a duty as an early journalist and spoke with many people about what conspired the years Jesus was a live, leading up to his crucifixion and resurrection.

Luke shows how Jesus’ story fulfills the story of God and Israel.

A breakdown of the book:

  • Chapters 1-2 introduce John the Baptist and Jesus.
  • Chapters 3 through most part of 9 tell about Jesus and his mission.
  • The last part of chapter 9 leading through most of 19 tells the story of Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem.
  • The last part of chapter 19 leading through most of 24 talks about Jesus’ final week in Jerusalem before he was crucified and resurrected.

Personally, I like the book of Luke because how simple Jesus’ story was told. Plus, it adds concrete evidence of whom Jesus was and why he came to Earth.

I implore you to take the 24-day reading challenge in the book of Luke. If you do, let me know your thoughts!
